CG Foundation Presents Scholarships to 16 Rising College Students
The Chelsea Groton Foundation recently presented scholarships to a select group of graduating seniors who represent 16 area high schools. Each of the individuals who applied for the scholarships excelled in academia, leadership and extracurricular activities during their high school years, and plans to pursue college degrees.
“The Foundation is committed to giving back to our communities. One of the best ways we are able to do this is by investing in the next generation of young adults, and supporting them as they work to achieve their goals,” said Michael Rauh, President & CEO of Chelsea Groton Bank. “The scholarship recipients are a distinguished group of students with bright futures ahead of them. We wish them the best as they pursue their college education.”
The 16 recipients of $500 scholarships were: Isabella Basile of Fishers Island School; Sneha Kumar of Fitch Senior High School; Tamara Acevedo-Ramos of Ella T. Grasso Southeastern Technical High School; Caitlyn Shetland of Griswold High School; Nayeli Contreras of Ledyard High School; Hannah Roby of Marine Science Magnet High School; Linda Chen of Montville High School; Rockenson Charles of New London High School; Mason Larkin of Norwich Free Academy; Marissa Madera of Norwich Technical High School; Nicole Lawton of St. Bernard School; Caroline Andrews of Stonington High School; Sophia Kasem-Beg of Waterford High School; Annie Celico of Westerly High School; Valerie Knowles of Wheeler High School; and Colin Ladd of The Williams School.
