Chelsea Groton gives back through education.

Our Community Education Program was started in 2004 to commemorate the Bank’s 150th Birthday. Thirteen years later, financial literacy classes are now taught in schools and community organizations throughout Eastern CT and Westerly, RI.

Community Education Event Details

    • Budgeting Basics on Saturday, September 23 from 9 – 11 AM at New London Adult Ed, Three Shaw's Cove. Learn how to create a basic budget, reduce debt and build savings. 
    • Home Buying Seminar on Tuesday, September 26 from 6 – 8 PM at Waterford High School, 20 Rope Ferry Road. We'll discuss everything you need to know about purchasing a home, including details on mortgage financing, underwriting and the approval process, as well as pitfalls to avoid, and the mortgage and down payment assistance programs that are available.
    • Credit Do's and Don'ts on Tuesday, October 3 from 6 – 8 PM at Waterford High School, 20 Rope Ferry Road. We'll share tips and tricks to establishing and repairing your credit score, as well as insights into what lenders are looking for when they analyze credit.
