Chelsea Groton Bank has achieved another Superior 5-Star Rating from BauerFinancial, the Nation’s Premier Bank Rating Firm. In the 30-plus years that Bauer has been analyzing banks, there has been a rise of increasingly complicated investments as well as burgeoning regulation. Each has added another hurdle when it comes to earning a 5-Star Rating from Bauer, yet none have been a problem for Chelsea Groton Bank. Not only has the Bank maintained safe capital levels well in excess of what regulators require, but Chelsea Groton Bank has also been helping its neighbors and local businesses grow their community with prudent lending and innovative solutions – all without compromising its own financial health in the process.

The Chelsea Groton Foundation awarded $182,654 in grants to 65 non-profit organizations from Connecticut and Rhode Island this spring. Inclusive of these donations, the Foundation has provided over $3.4 million in total grants to the community since 1999. The Foundation reviews applications and awards grants two times per year.

The Chelsea Groton Foundation recently presented scholarships to a select group of graduating seniors who represent 16 area high schools. Each of the individuals who applied for the scholarships excelled in academia, leadership and extracurricular activities during their high school years, and plans to pursue college degrees.

On July 3, Chelsea Groton Bank will mark 165 years of serving the community. As has always been central to the Bank’s mission, all planned celebrations include opportunities for the Bank and its employees to connect with individuals and organizations in the community.
