Chelsea Groton Bank recently presented scholarships to a select group of graduating seniors who represent 16 area high schools. Each of the individuals who applied for the scholarships excelled in academia, leadership and extracurricular activities during their high school years, and plans to pursue college degrees.
Miria Toth joined Chelsea Groton Bank as Assistant Secretary, Community Education Officer. In this role, Miria will be responsible for overseeing and continuing to expand the Bank’s Community Education program, which was founded 11 years ago. She will be focused on further developing the curriculum available to individuals, families and businesses, and reaching more members of our communities through the frequency and variety of classes being offered.
Chelsea Groton’s Melinda Burridge, AVP, Regional Sales & Service Manager and Matt Morrell, VP, Retail Lending Sales Manager, recently graduated from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Leadership Program. Ishmael Bryan, AVP, Collection Manager and co-president of the 2016 graduating class, gave remarks during the ceremony.
The Chelsea Groton Foundation awarded $160,722 in grants to 57 non-profit organizations from Connecticut and Rhode Island this spring. This dollar amount marks the greatest total awarded to area organizations in a single giving cycle since the Chelsea Groton Foundation was founded. Inclusive of these donations, the Foundation has provided over $2.3 million in total grants to the community since 1999. The Foundation reviews applications and awards grants two times per year.
Jean McGran of Norwich, CT, recently joined Chelsea Groton Bank as Assistant Vice President, Regional Sales & Service Manager. In this role, Jean will be responsible for leading the Bank’s Groton, New London, Niantic and Waterford retail teams.
Chelsea Groton Bank recently recognized eight employees for outstanding contributions to the Bank and community. Alyssa Bryan, Senior Direct Banking and eCommerce Representative; Megan Foster, Assistant Branch Manager at the Bank’s Center Groton branch; Kimberly Friend, Marketing Design & Communications Specialist; Tom Gouin, Senior Teller at the Bank’s Sprague branch; Alyssa Kumpf, Accounting Assistant; and Elizabeth Owen, Credit Analyst were presented with the esteemed Chelsea Award. The George Strouse “Spirit” Award was presented to Beth Glynn, AVP, Retail Loan Originator and Alex Masse, VP, Business Banking Manager.
The Center for Financial Training (CFT) recently honored 12 Chelsea Groton Bank employees – Lauren Arpin of North Stonington, Alyssa Bryan of Gales Ferry, Kelly Burke of Mystic, Mary Conti of Stonington, Dawn DeCristofaro of Ledyard, Ruth Eckhoff of Lebanon, Colleen Kluberdanz of Pawcatuck, Lisa Lamphere of Quaker Hill, Jessica L’Heureux of Groton, Elizabeth Owen of Norwich, Marjarie Perrone of Waterford, and Lori Tracy-Dufficy of Groton – during the annual graduation and awards ceremony.
Giusy Beaman, Assistant Secretary, Branch Operations Manager in the Bank’s Norwichtown branch; Penni Harlow, Assistant Secretary, Branch Manager of the Bank’s Mystic and Mystic Auto branches; and Jennifer Seuferling, Branch Manager of the Bank’s North Stonington branch recently graduated from the Connecticut Bankers Association’s Connecticut School of Finance and Management (CSFM).

Chelsea Groton Bank held its 162nd annual meeting of Bank officers, Board members and Corporators on Monday, April 24 at the Mystic Marriott in Groton, Connecticut. President and CEO Michael Rauh reported on the Bank’s 2016 results.
